Code of Conduct

I only use good quality professional paints (Snazaroo, Grimas, Wolfe Kryolan & Paradise / Mehron) as recommended by the Face Painting Association (FACE). These are EEC and US approved and glitters that are safe for cosmetic use. My paints are water based and are designed for use on the face. When applying Temporary Glitter Tattoos I only use quality professional body glues which are also EEC and US approved. The glitters used are safe and designed for cosmetic use.

Due to my insurance I will only Face Paint or put Temporary Glitter Tattoos on children who are 3 years or over. Children’s skin under 3 is sensitive and the immune system is still in development. There is a risk of prompting a future sensitivity or allergy.

I always change the water after every person when face painting. I always sanitize my hands with an automatic sanitizer throughout the event keep my hands clean. When I am face painting I sometimes wear gloves which are latex and allergy free (the same gloves are use by the emergency services and other medical professional). All of my equipment is cleaned during the event and deep cleaned after each event. Each Face Painting and Temporary Glitter Tattoo product which is opened is clearly marked by myself to show when it is to be used by.

I will not Face Paint or put Temporary Glitter Tattoos on anyone who does not want to painted or tattooed, however young or old. I also reserve the right to refuse to paint or tattoo anyone who has a skin complaint i.e. Eczema, Chicken pox, Conjunctivitis, Cuts, Bruises and anyone who seems unwell. It is the responsibility of the person or the guardian of the person having the face paint or tattoo to inform me of any known relevant allergies or skin complaints prior to me starting. If the person has an area that can't be painted by me, I will try and paint a little something on their arm if requested.

Please ensure that your child has a clean face when they come to be painted and that they are not eating. You should remain with your child at all times around the Face Painting and Temporary Glitter Tattoo area. I cannot be held responsible for any child that is left alone.

I reserve the right to refuse to paint or tattoo a person or part of a person if I feel they are unsuitable, or with what we consider offensive symbols or subjects. I will not paint or tattoo anyone who is abusive, violent or intoxicated. If you are smoking please ensure you stand well away from the Face Painting and Temporary Glitter Tattoo area.

Please do not let children touch anything in or around the work are. I will not be liable for any damage or injuries that should occur. Any damages to equipment or the work area will be charged to the person or persons responsible for damaging it. You and your children’s behaviour and safety are the responsibility of the parents/guardian attending the event.

Face paints can be easily removed by washing with soap & water or by using baby wipes. All face paints must be removed before going to bed. If the face paint has glitter on it take I damp flannel and wipe off any glitter from the centre of the face to the outside of the face then wash as normal. This should help prevent spreading of the glitter. Some colours may temporarily stain the skin.

Clothes that have been in contact with face paints should be soaked in cold water before washing normally.

Temporary Glitter Tattoos can be easily removed by putting cleansing lotion or baby oil onto a cotton wool pad and massage until it is all removed. Make sure you do not rub too hard as you can cause irritation.

If at any point during or after having a face paint or Temporary Glitter Tattoo there is any reaction / irritation or you think something is not right, remove immediately. When entering and requesting a Face Paint or Temporary Glitter Tattoo you are agreeing to these terms.

Thank you for your co-operation
